No Country for Old Men is a story about two men who respond to the violence and chaos of the world in opposite ways. The aging sheriff sees it as great darkening, leaving him confused and exposed. The quixotic bounty hunter sees it as an opportunity. One is always playing catch-up to the other, who’s always leaving a bloody trail. The sheriff almost always appears weak; the bounty hunter almost always appears in control (until the very end).
