At long last: It’s here. Scroll Less, Live More: 10 Healthy Tech Habits for Teens.
This was the hardest writing project I’ve ever taken. Not because I didn’t know what to say. But because I was leaving behind the world of long footnotes and philosophical words. It was hard because it forced me to translate what I believe about technology into real, concrete, everyday actions. I learned more about myself in the writing of this book than I did with “Digital Liturgies.”
This is the book I wish I would have had as a 17 year old, reeling from the possibilities of social media. It’s the book I wish I would have read in my 20s as time and again I protected my “me time” instead of my relationships.
To be honest, I have felt that the season of my life giving to talking about technology is coming to a close. I’ve said all I know how to say. I’ve stewarded, as far as I can tell, the mandate I felt to spread among Christian readers the philosophical and intellectual categories that shaped me several years ago. I don’t think there’s much more I can say. And if not, I think Scroll Less is a wonderful summation of where I think the good life is in a technological age.
I hope you’ll agree, too.
Thank you to every reader who took the time in the past 4 years to push me to greater specificity, or clarity, or conviction. You were part of this book, too. And I am deeply grateful.
