I wrote this poem for my Emily on our 1-year anniversary. Six anniversaries later, it is only truer.
“Summer, Fall, Winter, Spring, Summer.”
My wife is as warm as June.
As happy as July.
Steady like an August moon
Or morning kiss from September sky.
October breaks just as her light.
Her laugh is November gold.
Her spirit gentle as December’s white
and her calm a January glow.
Shy like February’s count
But her smile is the hope of March.
Gives of herself like an April fount
In May, to my unworthy heart.
To my wife, on our anniversary
And all so true of my wife Paulette (1952-2018) as well! How wonderful!!!
