The Christian Nationalism discourse is an awkward cocktail featuring two parts historical theology, three parts political science, ten parts evangelical turf war, and 234 parts Internet aesthetic.
It is strange to see some obviously intelligent people demand for Christian Nationalism to be taken seriously as an idea, while they frequently signal through their own behavior and rhetoric that they, in fact, do not take it very seriously either.
